MB30

The MB30 is a 30 reed harmonica based on Hohner Marine Band reedplates. After the release of the Suzuki SUB30 I was looking for ways to create a similar harp from existing parts. I came up with the idea of adding the missing reeds from a set of other reedplates by cutting off the required pieces and bolting them onto the existing ones. This made it necessary to cut new slots to let the new reeds swing through. I had to design a new comb for it accomodating the new reed setup. The result was amazing. I had my own design 30 reed harp. Later we were looking for simpler ways and instead of adding 4 reeds to the top plate and 6 to the bottom, we reconfigured the harp to have a twin bottom reedplate setup, thats how the MB30 known to public was born.
